SOQi

I am a SHEN Physio-Emotional Therapist. In my work, I use chi, also spelled 'qi,'  to relax and release the effects of physical and emotional pain. (You can read about SHEN Therapy here).

In 1998, I was introduced to the original HTE* Chi machine, a patented, FDA approved, class 1 medical device pictured above that is simple to use and which provides many health and wellness benefits.

I discovered that using the Chi machine for 5 minutes before or after a SHEN therapy session was very beneficial to my clients.

Clients who used a Chi machine for 5 minutes right before their SHEN sessions came to the table already relaxed and ready for therapy.  I gave clients from out of town a Chi machine to use before bed and upon waking at their hotel, and they remarked on their feelings of positive well-being and often asked where they could buy a Chi machine.  

By preference, I am a holistic, natural and organically inclined person.  I am rather surprised at how much I have come to love this equipment and how good I feel when I use them!  If I lapse and forget to use them for a day or so, I really feel the difference when I use them again: I have much more chi, well being, and calmness. My body feels better, better circulation and muscle tone. More stamina.  I never expected to be so appreciative of machines! 

The 3 “Musketeers”

The Chi machine became my first musketeer.

My second musketeer is the FIR dome, a half-dome which produces FarInfrared rays that radiates warm healing rays deep into the tissues. It quickly proved invaluable, so much so that I consider the FIR dome to be worth its weight in gold for its ability to reduce pain, congestion, inflammation, accelerate wound healing, and especially for its ability to provide relaxation and stress relief. 

The popular FIR dome is used on its own for its very impressive therapeutic benefits, or I combine it with the Chi machine to add motion and aerobic benefits.  Studies were done analyzing the invisible but tangible emanations that came from the hands of Chi Gong masters in China when they are engaged in healing others.  The studies found that each healer was producing FarInfraRed (FIR) Rays from their hands (Alternative Medicine, January 2004, and others ), the same rays that the FIR dome makes!  You can visit the FIR dome page on this site for more information.

In late 2008, HTE introduced two machines that use electrical energy, one with low resonance and one with high resonance.  The first, an advanced ERE (Electro-Reflex Energizer) is a reflexology machine which uses low resonance to reduce pain throughout your body.  It affects acupuncture meridians and stimulates and massages the reflex points in your feet with a gentle electric current. The second device, called E-Power, uses high resonance and quickly became my third musketeer.               

The E-Power increases Negative Potential Energy (Anion Effect) and is said to have a beneficial effect on every cell in your body and increase one's chi; empirical evidence supports this. The chi I feel when I work with clients after an E-power session feel like the chi in someone who has been practicing internal martial arts for years.  E-power's high resonance turns you into an organic electrical capacitor (a storage battery of energy), just like plugging in your cell phone charges the cell phone.   One of my psychic client says that E-Power works by “raising your vibration higher than the 'dis-ease'.”

Among its benefits, E-Power shows great promise towards alleviating, reducing and perhaps even preventing conditions associated with aging, such as osteoporosis, and it is being used to speed healing in broken bones.

Giving myself an E-Power session at night has made an enormous positive increase in my energy level, and in the appearance and softness of my skin, (during the infamous southern California Santa Ana winds, no less!).  Within a week, it had eliminated my formerly chronic insomnia, and improved my eyesight so that I no longer needed to switch to stronger eyeglasses at night. I strained a groin muscle and it was quite painful. 3 one hour treatments on the E-power and all the pain was gone.  I used the E-power and FIR dome over a suspicious fast increasing irregular growth under my collarbone (our family has a history of skin cancer). It immediately began to shrink after the first treatment. Within a week, it had dried and fell off, leaving just a faint brown mark!

My clients, too were impressed by E-Power:  Clients who received a 30 minute E-Power session before their SHEN session came to the SHEN table with a great volume of strong, flowing Chi available, and a high percentage of them had insightful pivotal sessions. In the first month of using E power with clients, one client experienced her chronic fatigue dissolve when she used E-power and two had long-term depressions lift.  

I wanted to know how and why the E-power caused the benefits we were experiencing, so I did some research, (thank you internet, Deanna Sudweeks and Neil Voss!)   I put together a booklet with the information I found which you can read online or download from the E-Power page on this site.

HTE's SOQi bed is the Rolls Royce of the HTE products, a state of the art massage table combining sound, FIR rays and Chi motion energy.  We are opening a SOQi center in our Mission Valley office, ready early December 2009. Our SOQi bed arrived before the room was ready for it. We put a tarp over the SOQi bed, and began spackling the walls, readying for the no VOC paint. Before we could begin to paint, a client arrived, a dance teacher with a strained groin muscle. She could barely walk. We pulled the tarp off the SOQi bed.  45 minutes in the SOQi bed and 30 minutes on the E-power and we had our first miracle! Personal experience with the 3 Musketeers + the SOQi bed

The SOQI bed in one half hour session, took away all the pain, swelling and soreness in my body from an auto accident.  I was on my way, luckily enough, to LA for the introduction of the SOQi bed to the medical community and HTE distributors when three blocks from the hotel my little Toyota Corolla was nearly totalled in a front end collision with large SUV.  I had fairly extensive soft tissue injuries from the accident, but refused the ambulance and made my way to the conference, where I was immediately put into the SOQi bed. Heaven!  I  relaxed and fell asleep, and a half hour later, emerged with no pain, or stiffness.  That night you could see the black and blue markings where the seat belt cut into me, but there was no pain and no swelling, nor did pain ever return. The marks took about 10 days to fade away.  Everyone who has used SOQi has their personal stories about how the 3 Musketeers have helped them. Here are more of mine: 

Three sessions using the basic ERE took me from hobbling painfully with a strained and inflamed plantar tendon to walking pain free.

The E-power dissolved my long term chronic fatigue and insomnia, and in addition to the experiences above, it healed a large and painful canker sore which erupted on the side of my tongue after I overdid the gourmet vinegar and citrus sampling at an organic foods expo.  I hadn't had a canker sore since childhood, but I remembered they usually took about 5 days to heal.  This time canker sore dissolved overnight, with one E-power treatment.  My vision has improved; I no longer need stronger glasses to see at night.

The FIR dome literally saved my life when I unknowingly had the bacteria from an infection in a tooth enter my bloodstream during a July 4th holiday weekend.  The pain began on a Friday, and I went to my acupuncturist Saturday, then lay with the dome over my head and jaw for 3 days to reduce pain until Tuesday morning when my dentist was back in town. The dentist told me the FIR dome probably saved my life - I should have gone to the emergency room rather than waiting, and that bacteria in the blood stream from an infected tooth, so close to the brain is often fatal if not treated immediately.
